Greenpeace is very pleased to support the INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF YOUTH and the AFRICAN YOUTH INITIATIVE ON CLIMATE CHANGE (AYICC). Initiatives like these are key in our united fight against climate change.

Young people, especially in Africa, will be most affected by climate change. Decisions made by politicians and industry today will impact severely upon the young generation. That is why Greenpeace supports young people all around the world to get organized and act against climate change. Through its SolarGeneration project, Greenpeace trains and supports students from all over the world to convince their universities to reduce energy consumption and install renewable energy sources on campuses. By making concrete changes themselves in their local environment, Solar Generation student are setting example for other people and demand politicians do the same.

As the first African youth initiative against climate change, Greenpeace will support the AYICC to establish itself and to get connected to the growing movement of youth around the world equally concerned about their future.

If students don't act against climate change, who will?
